Lounge Review: LJU Business Lounge in Ljubljana, Slovenia – Skip Calling the Airline!

Date:

Jože Pučnik Airport, Slovenia’s primary airport, lacks remarkable amenities or captivating features (no waterfalls or botanical gardens). However, its simplicity offers a more straightforward travel experience. Even though it’s the largest airport in Slovenia and serves as the main transit hub, it remains relatively small with just one lounge—conveniently named the LJU Business Lounge.

How to Access the Lounge

We enjoyed complimentary access to the LJU Business Lounge through our Priority Pass Membership, courtesy of the AMEX Personal Platinum card. This card provides a free Priority Pass membership that allows unlimited visits for you and a guest at numerous lounges worldwide. Currently, if you refer someone, the AMEX Personal Platinum card offers a welcome bonus of 60,000 AMEX Membership Rewards for spending $5,000 within the first three months of membership.

Additionally, business class passengers traveling with Adria Airways (Slovenia’s national carrier), Air France, Montenegro Airlines, Finnair, LOT Polish Airlines, and Turkish Airlines can access the lounge. Lounge entry is also available based on your airline status. For Canadians, if you hold Star Alliance Gold status while flying with Adria or LOT, or Oneworld Emerald or Sapphire while traveling with Finnair, you will have access as well. For a complete list of eligible pass holders, please refer to the following link: LJU Business Lounge Access.

Where is the Lounge?

The LJU Business Lounge is situated in the main terminal, after the security checkpoint. While the lounge itself is on the second floor, the check-in desk is conveniently located on the ground floor, just beyond the duty-free shop.

What’s Inside the Lounge?

My main goal when visiting a lounge is to secure a complimentary meal. The lounge provides a standard selection of prepared sandwiches and snacks. Since we visited in the morning, there was also a selection of breakfast cereals, pastries, and a decent coffee machine.

Furthermore, the lounge features a good variety of wines and a self-serve beer tap, which is a nice addition.

The seating arrangements in the lounge, however, leave much to be desired and are in desperate need of an update.

Overall, the LJU Business Lounge is not extraordinary, but it serves its purpose adequately.
