The Lively Piazza Dante in Naples

Date:

Named after the renowned Italian poet Dante Alighieri, Piazza Dante is a vibrant square located in the historic center of Naples. An impressive statue of Dante, created by the Neapolitan artist Tito Angelini, stands proudly at the heart of the piazza. This 19th-century statue commands attention in a square designed by the esteemed architect Luigi Vanvitelli.

Travel Challenges

On this particular day, the heat was intense, leaving me feeling sweaty and irritable. Upon arriving at the Via Toledo station, I approached a Signora to ask how far Piazza Dante was if I were to walk. She looked at me with disbelief, which unnerved me a bit. Although the walk from Via Toledo to Piazza Dante is only 10 minutes, the June heat made it an arduous journey. All I craved upon reaching the piazza was a refreshing drink.
