What Does All-Inclusive Mean in the Maldives?
In many Maldives resorts, just like elsewhere, the most basic all-inclusive package generally covers three daily meals and some beverages.
Meals are typically offered as buffets in the main restaurant, alongside a selection of drinks.
This is typical for the simplest plans.
Some resorts enhance their packages by including all-day snacks, an in-villa minibar, and extra à la carte restaurant options.
There are a few resorts that provide access to premium dining experiences (such as underwater dining or signature restaurants), usually available at a discount and requiring prior booking. This means you can’t simply walk in for dinner unless you reserved ahead of time.
Some premium all-inclusive resorts allow access to fine dining restaurants based on the duration of your stay; the more exclusive the restaurant, the longer you may need to stay.
Typically, all-inclusive also means unrestricted use of non-motorized water sports and snorkeling equipment, as well as some land activities, including access to the hotel’s fitness center, yoga classes, tennis, basketball, volleyball, and more.
Note on Boutique and Ultra-Luxury Resorts:
Just as in other parts of the world, boutique and ultra-luxury hotels in the Maldives do not typically offer all-inclusive packages, although some have recently introduced light packages that include appealing food and drink options, such as those at Soneva Jani and Amilla Fushi.
