This tour includes my favorite destination in all of Japan—Takayama. Rich in history, it boasts a captivating old town filled with narrow streets and wooden merchant houses from the Edo period. These remarkable buildings were constructed by the same artisans who created some of the finest shrines and temples in Kyoto, showcasing exquisite craftsmanship in every detail.
The locals are incredibly friendly, and the food is a delight. Be sure to experience the multi-course kaiseki dinner served Japanese-style on low tables with tatami mats at your ryokan. And there’s always time to enjoy a glass of sake or two on the side.
After exploring the lively city of Matsumoto, which is framed by mountains and home to the impressive “Black Crow” castle, you’ll have the chance to savor delicious noodles at Kobayashi Soba. This charming spot provides the perfect rest after a day of walking.
In Takayama, don’t miss the aptly named Center 4 Burgers, where you can sample Hida beef. While it may not be as renowned as Kobe or Wagyu, it still boasts a distinct high-quality flavor that is sure to impress.
The Mitsui Garden Hotel, Kanazawa enjoys a prime location just a short stroll from the Kenrokuen Gardens, making it a favorite among our clients. The restaurant, Noukabanzai, also receives high praise for its Obanzai Breakfast Buffet, which highlights locally sourced ingredients and traditional cooking techniques from the Kaga and Noto regions.

Tokyo is a city that never sleeps, providing endless options for nightlife. In the Asakusa district, you’ll find a variety of cozy bars, many with English-speaking staff and a relaxed ambiance.
