This charming breakfast and lunch café located on Arkansas Avenue is spotless and offers some of the best breakfast prices in town. Wildflower Cafe is open on weekdays and specializes in sandwiches, soups, and quiches.
Recently, I stopped by for a late, light breakfast and was pleasantly surprised to find avocado toast on the menu for just $3.50—far less than what you’d pay for the same dish in larger cities. The reason for this is that you order your toast by the slice, which means a single order might be on the smaller side. However, even doubling your order remains cost-effective compared to big city prices. Each serving features whole wheat toast topped with smashed avocado, a perfectly cooked egg (over easy by default), and a sprinkle of Everything Bagel seasoning. It’s simple yet satisfying—a great way to kickstart your day with some protein.
This approach is reflected in many of the breakfast items at Wildflower Cafe. The menu offers a variety of croissant breakfast sandwiches filled with options like smoked ham, bacon, turkey, or sausage, all paired with egg and cheese. There’s also the classic Quiche Lorraine, available for breakfast served with a coffee cake, or for lunch served with your choice of salad. The cafe features a steaming bowl of tomato basil soup ready to warm you up, along with a rotating soup of the day. Whether it’s paninis, gourmet burgers, or a hearty chicken Caesar salad, Wildflower Cafe checks all the boxes.
But they go above and beyond with their unique bacon jam—a blend of jalapeños and bacon—served over ham or any dish you prefer. The Ham and Bacon Jam sandwich can be enjoyed on a croissant, in a wrap, or on regular bread. I saw many attendees at the Taste of the Valley event in downtown Russellville rave about this jam. You can even request it to be added to other items on the menu.
Another standout is the Jalapeño Popper Wrap, which features poppers, bacon, chicken, lettuce, and tomato wrapped in spinach. The Big Kids Grilled Cheese, made with melted Swiss and cheddar cheeses along with bacon, is another satisfying option. Pair either of these with a side of loaded baked potato salad or hummus for a fulfilling lunch.
And I must mention the Monte Cristo—an exceptional sandwich made with ham and turkey, layered with Swiss cheese. Traditionally deep-fried and served with raspberry jam, Wildflower Cafe opts for a healthier twist by grilling it on cinnamon raisin toast instead. They still dust the sandwich with powdered sugar and add a drizzle of their homemade raspberry chipotle jam, which is a delightful touch.
