How many joyful holiday memories do you have? Creating and cherishing these memories is essential for all of us. As summer arrived, we encouraged you to share your favorite holiday experiences with us.
To kick off the summer, we organized a barbecue where we exchanged our favorite holiday memories captured through photos.
At Free Spirit, we believe that travel takes us to special places where we can create wonderful memories with friends and family. Thank you to everyone who shared their holiday memories and participated in our happy holiday memories competition! We loved looking through all the entries.

Joanne submitted a delightful photo of her daughter, Amy. We selected Joanne as our winner because her photo reflects a cheerful and adventurous young lady (Amy) enjoying her holiday. We also loved the heartwarming memory that accompanied it…
Joanne’s happy holiday memory: ‘Amy’s photo was taken during our visit to Ireland. She enjoyed a boat trip from Carlingford Marina, where she spotted a dolphin named Fin, as named by the locals. The boat captain even allowed Amy to wear his captain’s hat and steer the boat! Amy has a passion for roller coasters, embodies a fun-loving spirit, and is adored by everyone.’
A £100 Red Letter Days Voucher is on its way to Joanne, enabling her to create even more joyful memories with Amy.
Our Top Three Entries
One of the shared holiday memories was quite unique. While there are numerous attractions on holiday, Annette appreciated a close encounter with a blackbird.
Annette: ‘Stuttgart, Germany, has many beautiful sights, but my favorite moment was when a juvenile blackbird stood on the pavement, seemingly unbothered. I couldn’t resist picking him up to help him to safety in a tree, all while enjoying a lovely close encounter.’
On another note, Andy’s holiday photo resonates with many of us. We often wish the sun wouldn’t set, signaling the end of our vacations, especially after a summer with so little sunshine in the UK.
Andy: ‘This is me on vacation in Kos, Greece, desperately trying to hold up the sun so that our holiday doesn’t end.’
