Prepare for Your Summer Adventure! Tickets Required for Glacier and Book Quickly for Yellowstone Lodging & Activities!
This upcoming summer of 2024, Glacier National Park will once again implement a reservation system for visitors traveling along the Going-to-the-Sun Road, in the North Fork area, and at Many Glacier. This initiative aims to manage crowds and enhance safety within the park. While Yellowstone National Park doesn’t require entry tickets, its campgrounds, accommodations, and tours tend to fill up rapidly, so advance planning is essential! To assist our Stay Montana guests in enjoying a smooth and wonderful vacation, we’ve compiled helpful information about visiting YNP and GNP below. Glacier National Park
Tickets for the Going-to-the-Sun Road can be purchased at recreation.gov. Find more ticket details here.
Be aware that the Going-to-the-Sun Road often receives heavy snowfall and typically opens around June.
An Entry Reservation Ticket will be necessary from May 24 to September 8, 2024, for private vehicles and motorcycles traveling on the Going-to-the-Sun Road or in the North Fork area between 6 am and 3 pm. Tickets will also be needed for Many Glacier from July 1 to September 8, 2024, during the same hours. These tickets are in addition to your Park Pass. However, foot and bicycle traffic do not require an Entry Reservation Ticket. If you have lodging or service reservations, tickets are included; just present your receipt. A portion of vehicle reservations will become available 120 days, or roughly 4 months, prior to the date, starting in January on a daily rolling basis. Next-day vehicle reservations will be available at 7 pm MDT each day for entry the following day, starting on May 23, 2024. Tickets can be obtained through recreation.gov.
