Think that a salon inside a train station is solely for emergencies? Think again! O’Sullivans, located within the Shard Retail Arcade directly across from The Shard entrance, has received glowing reviews.
I can see why after experiencing their service firsthand. I was welcomed warmly, enjoyed a relaxed atmosphere, and left with an impressive haircut and blow-dry from Marco. I also had a perfect gel manicure by Jamie that complements my bouncy new hairstyle. The appointments are efficient so I still have most of the day free to explore the area, all while looking my best.
They use top-notch products: Kerastase for hair and CND for nails. Whether you’re looking for a complete makeover or a quick refresh, this is the place to go near The Shard.
2. Savor Fresh Produce at a Farmers Market

If you’re in the vicinity of The Shard on a Tuesday and craving locally sourced lunch, the London Bridge Farmers Market takes place at the historic Guy’s Campus at King’s College.
All the food available comes from within a 100-mile radius of the M25, featuring everything from homemade moussaka to artisanal bread and mouthwatering cakes. There’s ample seating to enjoy your selections. This market is part of a wider network of Farmers Markets throughout London.

London Glassblowing, led by Peter Layton, is one of Europe’s leading studios for handmade glass art, having been situated on Bermondsey Street for a decade.

In addition to various exhibitions and live glassblowing demonstrations, you can book bespoke experience days and create a unique piece of blown glass yourself.

Located within walking distance of The Shard, this boutique is filled with high-end bargains, similar to those found in other upscale areas of London, such as Westbourne Grove and Primrose Hill.
I found a nearly new Massimo Dutti handbag for only £25, and I left with my new bag, a big smile, and the satisfaction of knowing my shopping spree contributed to a good cause.
