Have you heard of a model railway museum in Florence? A friend recently visited with her grandchildren and highly recommends the new HZero museum!

It features one of Europe’s largest model railways, located in a former cinema just steps away from Santa Maria Novella train station in Florence.

The museum was established by Giuseppe di San Giuliano, the owner of one of our villas in Sicily. At Villa San Giuliano, he created a stunning Mediterranean garden, and for his model railway, he fashioned miniature landscapes inspired by the Dolomites, the island of Elba, and the streets of Berlin.

The spacious former cinema offers a fantastic backdrop for the model displays. Observing the intricate miniatures is reminiscent of watching a cartoon come to life. It’s a delightful outing for visitors of all ages and an ideal way to escape the summer heat for a few hours.
