Airlink is set to enhance its regional air services by introducing flights to Kinshasa, the most populous city in Africa, located in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Flights from Johannesburg to Kinshasa will commence on March 28 of next year.
The new service will operate three times a week using modern 98-seat Embraer E190 twin-engine aircraft.
“The Democratic Republic of the Congo represents a key market for Airlink. We initiated our service in 2020 with flights to Lubumbashi, and now we are excited to expand by adding Kinshasa to our extensive regional network. This will provide customers with significantly greater access and travel options than they currently have. Kinshasa is a major regional hub; not only is it the political and economic capital of the country, but it is also home to more than 17 million residents, making it Africa’s most populous city. With Airlink’s well-timed schedules, strong connections, and excellent service, we anticipate a fantastic response,” said Airlink CEO and Managing Director, Rodger Foster.
The flights are designed to offer seamless connections with Airlink’s extensive domestic routes in South Africa, as well as its impressive range of regional services. Additionally, connections to long-haul flights with global airline partners will be readily available. Airlink currently provides a comprehensive route network to over 45 destinations across 15 African countries, along with flights to St Helena.
The flight schedule is as follows:
4Z010 departs from JNB at 20:30 and arrives at FIH at 23:40 on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.
4Z011 departs from FIH at 00:25 and arrives back in JNB at 05:30 on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
