It’s a popular coaching tool that I first discovered in the “Conversations with God” series many years ago.
I find this model extremely useful for gaining clarity in various aspects of life. Once you achieve clarity, it becomes easier to determine who you need to become to accomplish your goals.
The key is to keep it straightforward. Avoid overthinking; simply jot down, as honestly as possible, the top 3-5 items that come to mind for each category. Save this to your desktop, and refer back to it throughout the year as a compass guiding you home.
Be – Cultivate a way of being that aligns with your visions and goals
This section focuses on who you aspire to become, the qualities you wish to develop, and how you want to conduct yourself.
Write at least three “I am” statements. For example: I am abundant, I am perfectly whole as I am, I am generous, I am clear, I am in flow.
Feel free to customize these statements to reflect what resonates with you.
Do – How your identity inspires action
This section is about what you wish to achieve, experience, or accomplish.
Have – The results of your actions lead you to your goals
This is where you outline what you would like to attain.
Once you’ve gained clarity, it becomes simpler to identify who you need to be to reach these goals.
The key is to keep it simple! Avoid getting bogged down in overthinking.
Just honestly write down, in the present tense, the top 3-5 thoughts that come to mind for each category.
This is for you to save on your desktop and refer back to throughout the year, adding to it as needed—much like a compass guiding you on your journey.
