Every day, I rise and go to sleep with the Cappelle Medicee in sight. This is not a metaphor; it’s the first thing I see when I open my windows in the morning and the last when I close them at night. I truly treasure this view. With so many prayers to be answered, I’ve decided to channel mine to the Medici family. The Medici Chapel, located in the Basilica of San Lorenzo in Florence, consists of two structures added to Brunelleschi’s original design. Today, this chapel serves both as a state museum and as the burial site for the Medici family. Michelangelo designed the stunning Sagrestia Nuova. The extravagant Cappella dei Principi, dedicated to the Grand Dukes of Tuscany, was constructed in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries and is elegantly adorned with beautiful colored marbles. Sadly, as far back as I can remember, it has been under restoration.

Me levanto y me acuesto con las Cappelle Medicee. Y no es ninguna metáfora. Es lo primero que veo al abrir las ventanas por la mañana y al cerrarlas por la noche, y se agradece. Dios tiene tantas plegarias que atender que hace mucho tiempo decidí canalizar las mías a los Medici. Las capillas Mediceas, ubicadas en la basílica de San Lorenzo en Florencia, comprenden dos estructuras que se añadieron al diseño original de Brunelleschi. En la actualidad, son un museo estatal y el lugar de sepultura de la familia Medici. La Sagrestia Nuova fue diseñada por Miguel Ángel.
