Discovering a WWII-Era Untouched Mine

Date:

About a year ago, we embarked on a journey to a remote valley in Norway, where we discovered two abandoned mines nestled at the base of a steep mountainside. After conducting some research, we learned about a path that winds all the way to the mountain’s summit, an impressive elevation of 715 meters. At the top, we found evidence of more mines, including one that seemed to hang precariously off the mountainside, only reachable via an 80-meter ladder. Check out the video from our adventurous trip in search of the mine:

Regardless of whether you’re a fan of mines, the hike up the mountain is an incredible experience. The view from the summit is truly breathtaking (and not just due to the strenuous uphill trek).

To enjoy such stunning views, we had to gain quite a bit of elevation. With a 715-meter elevation change, the trek was challenging, but Tora maintained her smile even at the steepest sections.

As we approached the summit, we stumbled upon remnants that told the story of mining activities from the past, including wires, train tracks, buildings, and various tools and equipment. For a complete view of our journey, be sure to watch the video above.
