As a child, you were probably told not to ride your bike on the railway tracks. Well, here’s a unique opportunity to do just that across 34 km!
The Flekkefjord Line, known as Flekkefjordbanen in Norwegian, is a former railway track that has been transformed into a draisine route, commonly referred to as a rail bike. We have experienced draisine rides before, but none compare to the stunning views and long tunnels found on this route. Watch the video below as we traverse the full 34 km track, including a remarkable 16 km spent in complete darkness inside the tunnels.
Practical Information
The Flekkefjord Line begins in Flekkefjord, Norway, as one might expect. All draisines are tandem bikes, allowing space for two riders and a small bench that accommodates one adult or two children as passengers.
