This post is created in partnership with Matt’s Flights.
When it comes to travel, the most significant portion of your budget often goes towards airfare. Finding affordable airline tickets requires substantial time and patience—resources that are typically scarce in a busy lifestyle.
So when Matt invited me to try Matt’s Flights, I eagerly accepted the opportunity to receive emails about affordable deals directly in my inbox. There’s nothing quite like discovering flights that are hundreds of dollars cheaper than usual. After spending a year traveling on a tight budget, I understand the considerable effort involved in locating bargain tickets. Now that I’m back in Toronto, my time for deal-hunting has drastically decreased, making the thought of having discounted flights sent to me quite appealing.

About Matt’s Flights
Founded in 2017, Matt’s Flights was designed for individuals wanting to be automatically notified about travel deals. Matt and his team dedicate their time to discovering both international and domestic offers. You’ll receive deals tailored to your preferred location when you sign up for the service. Currently, Matt’s Flights caters to residents of the U.S. and Canada.
The email notifications have been fantastic, introducing me to destinations I never would have considered. Sometimes, the tempting prices have even made me think about booking those trips.
To take advantage of these prices, you’ll typically need to book within a week for travel occurring within three months of the notification. While this time frame can be restrictive, it allows reasonable planning, especially if you need to arrange time off from work. However, I recommend booking as soon as possible because fares might increase once other travelers jump on the same deal. Many of these are non-stop round-trip flights, too.
Is Matt’s Flights Legitimate?
Absolutely! Airlines occasionally make pricing mistakes that are usually corrected shortly after the fares are released. Without actively monitoring these flights, scoring such discounts can be challenging. Additionally, rare seat discounts can also lead to significant savings.
Do note that while you book the flights yourself, Matt does not receive compensation from the providers you choose. The deals typically come from Google Flights, and you’ll receive a screenshot of the search results along with a link from one of the departing airports.
Matt’s Flights Subscription Pricing: Free and Premium Options
Matt’s Flights offers two types of subscription plans: Free and Premium.
Matt’s Flights – Free Subscription
If you’re hesitant about upgrading to the premium subscription, you can try the free version first. Simply enter your email address, and you’ll start receiving deals within a week. This version provides one deal per week, and you can unsubscribe anytime. One drawback I’ve found with the free subscription is that it includes deals from U.S. airports as well. For example, I might receive an email about non-stop flights to Paris for $284, only to find out that the deal applies if I fly from New York.
Nonetheless, it’s still a decent option if I plan to travel to New York from Toronto before heading to Paris. While Canadian cities are mentioned at the bottom of the emails, it’s evident that there are numerous departing cities in the U.S.
Matt’s Flights – Premium Services
If you want to access more deals, consider the Premium Service, which costs $59.99 per year or $4.99 per month.
24/7 Unlimited Email Access to Matt and His Team
Another excellent benefit of the premium subscription is that you can always reach out to Matt and his team for customized searches tailored to your travel plans. Just provide your desired destination, and they will send you the best available deals. You can also email them any questions concerning your travel dates, and they will help you explore your options.
Matt’s Flights Premium Service – Is it Worth It for Canadians?
As Canadians, we often find ourselves frustrated by the abundance of great deals exclusively for U.S. airports. However, Matt’s Flights offers excellent deals through their Canada Premium service. While the fares may not be as low as those for U.S. airports, you can still save a significant amount.
Here are a few examples of fantastic deals:
Some additional incredible deals I found for non-stop round-trip flights departing from Toronto included:
• Toronto to Halifax: $348 (regularly $700 CAD)
• Toronto to Vancouver: $338 (regularly $700 CAD; living in Canada can indeed be pricey)
• Toronto to Honolulu: $584 (regularly $900 CAD)
What’s more, Matt sends emails with prices displayed in Canadian dollars! If you’re Canadian, you can relate to the annoyance of finding a seemingly affordable deal only for it to be in USD. This often results in a price increase of about 30% for us.
