Nature Canada’s Congratulations Letter for #Hike4Birds

Date:

Sonya Richmond and Sean Morton found their love for hiking during their time at university in Ontario. Since then, they have dedicated as much time as possible to outdoor activities like hiking, kayaking, traveling, and camping across Canada. Sonya’s deep appreciation for birds, nature, and the outdoors has guided her towards a career in conservation, while Sean has embraced freelancing as a writer and landscape photographer. Although both spend a significant portion of their workdays in front of computers, they seize every opportunity to venture outdoors, disconnect from the digital realm, and rejuvenate their spirits. Their adventure began with a medium-distance hike in 2016, when they trekked 800 km along the Camino Frances, from St. Jean-Pied-de-Port in France to Santiago de Compostela in Spain. This was followed by a hike across France on the Via Podiensis in 2017. Since then, they have explored various trails, including the Camino Portuguese across Portugal, the Camino Madrid, Camino San Salvador, Camino Primitivo, Ontario’s Bruce Trail, and the stunning East Coast Trail in Newfoundland. Currently, they are traversing Canada along the 28,000 km Trans Canada Trail!
