Silent Wednesday: Lowering the Drawbridge on Wells Street, Chicago

Hugh, I believe the issue may stem from the fact that large freight ships no longer navigate the Chicago River. As a result, the water traffic mainly consists of leisure boats, which typically aren’t big enough to necessitate the drawbridge operation.

I’ll investigate this further and get back to you!
