Nature

Are you looking for some relief from the summer heat in the city?

The Rock Garden offers a serene oasis for all Torinese. Even though it’s in the city center, you’ll feel as if you’re in a secluded garden, surrounded by streams, trees, and little bridges. Here, you can admire some of the sculptures by the Gardener Poet of Turin.

Ferragosto in Turin – Where to Eat

Start your morning right at Caffè Elena, located in the picturesque Piazza Vittorio. You should know that Caffè Elena is one of the city’s ‘Historic Cafes’ that has preserved the decor and subtle ambiance of the 20th century.

This café is historic because, in the early 20th century, Giuseppe Carpano perfected the recipe for the vermouth, a white wine elixir infused with herbs, invented by his ancestor in the 18th century.

Imagine, it was also a beloved spot for the renowned poet and novelist Cesare Pavese, who found inspiration at its tables.

A café to be experienced at all hours, from breakfast in the morning to aperitifs and post-dinner cocktails crafted by the creative bartender Mattia Griffa.

I want to highlight La Rivendita2, the second establishment by the great Davide Terenzio Pinto. I’m a regular at Affini, the historic place in San Salvario where you can enjoy Vermouth Anselmo.

La Rivendita 2, “the shop of ruinous happiness and similarities,” is located in the heart of Turin, in Piazza della Repubblica, where the famous Porta Palazzo market takes place during the day.

As many of you may know, the Central Market has opened in Turin. What better opportunity to try something delicious, sourced locally in an original setting in the city’s heart? I’m leaving you the link to Central Market so you can check out the scheduled events for Ferragosto.

If you’re looking for a tasty treat, you must try the trapizzino in one of Turin’s lovely squares, Piazza Carlina. The Trapizzino & Vineria offers a perfect pairing for a delicious aperitif in the heart of Turin.

For Lunch and Dinner

You absolutely must try one of the famous Torinese Piole. The article is continuously updated, and as I try new places, I’ll add my personal reviews.

Please let me know if you know of any venues that will remain open, so I can recommend them to tourists and locals spending Ferragosto in the city.
