Beaumont, Texas is a remarkable destination located near the Louisiana border. It offers a plethora of outdoor activities, a rich history tied to the oil industry, world-class museums, and some of the finest restaurants. Here are some of the most popular dining spots in the area.
Each of these venues provides great food and an enjoyable atmosphere. Most are situated in or close to downtown Beaumont, making them easy to access during your visit.
Below are the restaurants I have personally experienced and thoroughly enjoyed, as well as a couple that I plan to try on my next visit!

Katharine & Co, located in the historic Mildred Building in Beaumont, is a gourmet restaurant renowned for its exceptional dishes served throughout the week.

New York Pizza & Pasta
While the name suggests pizza and pasta, the menu at New York Pizza & Pasta encompasses much more. Whether you’re craving fried calamari, Mediterranean salads, ribeye steak, salmon fillets, or shrimp Modo Mio, you’ll find gourmet Italian dishes to satisfy your taste buds.
They take pride in their Old-World cooking style, ensuring that each dining experience is leisurely and of high quality.
Rao’s Bakery
Rao’s Bakery offers the delightful taste of Italy in Beaumont, Texas. They are well-known for their Mardi Gras King Cakes, which are shipped across the United States.
Rao’s was also the first bakery in Texas to produce and sell Gelato, the Italian style ice cream. This is an excellent place for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, as well as enjoying a variety of pastries, cakes, and desserts.
J. Wilson’s
Known for its meticulous attention to detail, J. Wilson’s stands out in Beaumont. The restaurant uses fresh, locally-sourced ingredients and presents each dish as a work of art on cast iron plates.
The menu includes fried shrimp, flank steak, stuffed chicken breast, and more, complemented by an impressive bar menu. J. Wilson’s serves brunch, lunch, and dinner.
Tacos La Bamba
Tacos La Bamba specializes in authentic Mexican cuisine. This isn’t the standard fare you might find elsewhere; here, Taco Tuesday (and every day) is elevated with deliciousness at great prices. They even offer breakfast tacos! The menu features burritos, enchiladas, tostadas, and more.
Carmela’s Mexican Restaurant
Carmela’s is the go-to spot for traditional Mexican cuisine, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The menu features classic choices such as flautas, enchiladas, and tacos. Don’t miss out on Carmela’s famous fajitas—highly recommended!
Floyd’s Cajun Seafood Company
Floyd’s combines Texas flair with Louisiana’s culinary traditions, offering southern hospitality alongside Cajun-inspired cuisine. Known for their crawfish, the Floyds have perfected flavors that can impress even the toughest critic. You must try their renowned Oyster Nachos, and happy hour is available Monday to Friday.
Struggle Street Brewing Company
Struggle Street Brewing Company proudly crafts its own beer right in Beaumont, Texas. Stop by to sample their rotating tap selections. Their creativity ensures that there’s always something new and exciting to try.

Mamma Tia’s Bistro
Mamma Tia’s Bistro, a new addition to Beaumont’s dining scene, offers a fresh twist with its unique “Mex-Italian” fusion. Combining beloved Mexican and Italian dishes such as pizza, pasta, wings, and sandwiches, the restaurant serves up flavorful selections in a beautifully renovated space. Be sure to try their famous Peach Bellini—it’s absolutely a must!
